Seriously ill children have so many hurdles to overcome as they fight
their way back to better health – it can be a real mountain to climb just
getting from one moment to the next. Fairy Box is a valuable resource on any
children’s ward – a special place where wonderful fairy magic can be stored until
it is needed by a very ill or distressed child to help them get from the pain and
upset they are feeling to somewhere a little better.
In many cases, medical, nursing and play staff, caring for the ill children have
reported how the Fairy Box has given them a lift too, alongside lifting the spirits of
an upset and frightened child.
Health professionals play an important role in opening this enchanted doorway which brings fairy magic
to children in hospital. If you would like know more about how to start a Fairy Box in your children’s ward,
we would love to hear from you and find a way to make it happen.
It helps us to know the ages and mix of
boys and girls at any given time to ensure that we can provide gifts which are suitable.
